Integrate Odoo with your other software

Information typed twice ends up differing. Connecting Odoo to your other software, and to your customers’ and suppliers’, moves the data without retyping.

What it covers

  • Data exchange interfaces (APIs), one way or both ways

  • EDI with your customers and suppliers: orders, delivery notes, invoices

  • Regular synchronisation with a project management or time tracking tool, an online shop or business software

  • File imports and exports, one-off or scheduled

How I go about it

  1. Map

Which software is the reference for each piece of data, which way it flows, and how often.

  2. Define the interface

The channel (API, EDI or files), the fields, the mappings and the error cases, decided before the code.

  3. Build the connector

With its tests, and a clean restart after an error or an outage.

  4. Make errors visible

Data that does not get through shows in Odoo instead of getting lost.

What you receive

  • The connector, as an Odoo module, in your repository
  • The description of the interface: data, direction, frequency
  • Its automated tests

Frequently asked questions

Which software can be connected to Odoo?

Any software that offers an API or can import and export files: project management tool, online shop, business software, bank. And, through EDI, those of your customers and suppliers.

What if the other software is unavailable?

The synchronisation resumes when it comes back, and what did not get through stays visible in Odoo instead of getting lost.

Is a development needed every time?

Not always: an OCA module sometimes already provides the interface. That gets checked before anything is written.
